Jake Adams hit two home runs, Corey Julks reached base in all five of his at bats, and three pitchers combined for a shutout as the Quad Cities River Bandits beat the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 8-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Modern Woodmen Park.
This was the fourth shutout of the season for the pitching staff.

Adams opened up the scoring with his fifth home run of the season in the fourth inning. The designated hitter turned on the first pitch from Dylan File in the frame and hammered it well out onto the berm behind the left field wall to give the River Bandits a 1-0 lead.
The Bandits were back on the attack in the very next inning. Jonathan Lacroix bounced a base hit through the right side to open the inning. He moved to second on a groundout from Jake Meyers and was joined on base by Jonathan Arauz who walked. Corey Julks followed with a single up the middle, scoring Lacroix and increasing the lead to 2-0. The next hitter, Miguelangel Sierra, ripped a double into the left field corner to score Julks and make it 3-0.

In the sixth inning, Colton Shaver reached on an infield single and Roman Garcia also found himself on base after he was plunked by a Robbie Hitt pitch. A wild pitch moved both runners into scoring position and Meyers followed with a booming double into the gap in left center to plate both runners and increase the margin to 5-0.
Adams struck again in the home seventh. Julks led off with a single and, after a pop up off the bat of Miguelangel Sierra, Adams smacked another home run. This time it was a two-run blast to the power alley in left center for his sixth of the campaign.
The final damage was done in the bottom of the eighth when Arauz doubled the other way into the right field corner with two outs. Julks followed with his fourth hit of the game to drive in Arauz and reach the final margin of 8-0.
The Bandits totaled 13 hits in the game. Julks led all players with four while Meyers, Adams, and Shaver each tallied a pair.
Leovanny Rodriguez opened the game with 5.0 shutout innings during which he struck out nine hitters and allowed only two hits. Parker Mushinski was first out of the bullpen with 3.0 scoreless innings. He walked a pair, gave up two hits, and struck out one. Luis Garcia finished the game with a scoreless ninth.

The River Bandits (24-20) and Timber Rattlers (21-24) meet again on Wednesday night at 6:35 p.m. LHP Patrick Sandoval (3-1, 3.57) will take the ball for the Bandits as Wisconsin goes with RHP Christian Taugner (0-4, 4.49).
