Mike Feder Honored at Davis-Monthan AFB

January 27, 2012

Tucson Padres Vice President and General Manager Mike Feder was honored at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base Friday morning. Feder, and other members of the Tucson community, were named Honorary Squadron Commanders at a ceremony on the base.

The honorary commander program is designed to further immerse individuals in Tucson to the Air Force, their mission and their installation. Feder was matched with the 354th Fighter Squadron, commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Luce. Others honored on Friday included former University of Arizona basketball player Joseph Blair, Tucson City Council member Shirley Scott and restaurateur K.C. An.

"I have always felt the military members in our community deserve our full appreciation," said Feder. "I look forward to sharing my experience on base with members of the Tucson community."

Feder was selected because of his extensive support of the men and women at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. The Tucson Padres offered complimentary tickets for Sunday home games to all active military and their families last season and will continue the same offer in 2012. The Tucson Padres staff, players and mascot made multiple appearances on the base during the 2011 season.

The Tucson Padres begin the 2012 season at home on Thursday, April 5 against the Fresno Grizzlies.
