DAVENPORT, Iowa -- The Quad Cities River Bandits were held to a season-low two hits in Monday's 2-0 loss to the Bowling Green Hot Rods on a calm night at Bowling Green Ballpark. It was the third time this season, and second in a week, the Bandits were kept off the scoreboard. Alex De Goti had one of Quad Cities' two hits to extend his on-base streak to 22 games while Enoli Paredes pitched a career-high six innings and allowed just two runs on four hits but suffered the loss.

Quad Cities (15-14) has now lost three straight games, matching their longest losing skid of the season. Bowling Green (14-15) hasn't taken a season series from Quad Cities since 2013, but will now have two chances to do so for 2017. Randy César had the other hit for Quad Cities and also drew a walk in the loss.
Hot Rods starter Ethan Clark (1-0) hurled five scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out five to earn his first win of the season. Paredes (0-2) induced three double plays to help him to his longest outing of his career, but surrendered the two runs - both in the fourth inning - on four hits and a pair of walks.
Jesus Sanchez tripled with one out in the fourth then scored on a rocket single off the bat of Michael Brosseau, who scored two batters later when Adrian Rondon singled. Ronel Blanco made his River Bandits debut following Paredes to the mound and immediately let up a single and double, but got two strikeouts and a hard lineout to end the threat. Blanco pitched two scoreless innings in his first outing at the Midwest League level.
The Bandits aim to even the series Tuesday when they face Bowling Green at 6:35 p.m. CT at Bowling Green Ballpark. Dustin Hunt (0-3, 5.65) starts for the River Bandits against JD Busfield (3-0, 1.17) for the Hot Rods.
