San Jose, CA- The Quakes concluded their six-game road trip on Wednesday afternoon, dropping the rubber-match to the Giants 8-4 at Municipal Stadium.
Despite another multi-home run game from Carlos Rincon, the Giants scored their final six runs on three big flies of their own to put the game out of reach.
Trailing 2-0 in the fifth, Rincon and Steve Berman tied the game with a pair of solo home runs. Heath Quinn jumped San Jose right back in front 5-2 with a three run home run off Isaac Anderson.
Anderson (7-6) was lifted from the game after 4.1 innings and suffered the loss despite striking out eight.
Another pair of solo home runs inched the Quakes back within a 5-4 deficit during the seventh. Rincon jacked his second home run of the game and Brandon Montgomery went back-to-back with his second round tripper of the road trip. All eleven home runs in the series for Rancho were solo home runs, five coming from Rincon.
Rancho's scoring was capped however as Jalen Miller and Dillon Dobson went deep in the bottom of the seventh, wrapping the game at 8-4.
