PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - The St. Lucie Mets are pleased to announce their 2017 regular season schedule. The Mets will play 140 games in the Florida State League with 70 at home and 70 on the road.
The season opens on Thursday, April 6th with a home game at Tradition Field against the Palm Beach Cardinals. The game will feature the return of Dollar Night with $1 beer and the Mets refillable solo cup.
Tickets for Opening Night and all other individual games go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. At that time season tickets, flex plans, Sunday Brunch tickets and All You Can Eat tickets will also go on sale.
The Mets host 15 home games in April, 14 games in May, 13 games in June, 13 games in July, 14 games in August and one game in September.
Monday-Saturday games will start at 6:30 p.m. The two exceptions are games at 10:30 a.m. on May 10th and July 19th. All Sunday games begin at 1 p.m.
An exciting feature this season will be all eight Saturday home games concluding with fireworks shows lighting up the Treasure Coast night sky! The pyrotechnic displays are sponsored by Seacoast Bank.
Once again the Mets are honored to participate in the fourth annual Jackie Robinson Celebration Game. The contest at Historic Dodgertown in Vero Beach is Saturday, April 15 against the Florida Fire Frogs. The date marks the 70th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking baseball's color barrier. The Mets will serve as the home team.
The Mets will entertain the Charlotte Stone Crabs on Tuesday, July 4th for a spectacular Independence Day fireworks extravaganza.
Throughout the season the Mets will hold a plethora of nights featuring nonprofits and community groups. On April 29th they will host Strike Out Hunger Night featuring custom jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game. All proceeds benefit the Treasure Coast Food Bank. May 20th will be Boy Scout Night with a campout following the game for any registered Boy Scout in the Treasure Coast area. May 27th will be Military Appreciation Night with the players wearing custom military themed jerseys, flag ceremonies, recognition of veterans and a jersey auction. Proceeds go to the VVA Chapter 566 and their Veteran Health and Welfare Fund. July 14th will be Christmas In July. The Mets will take toy donations to benefit WPSL Christmas Kids. Santa will be at the game to meet fans, take pictures and hear holiday wishes. A specialty jersey will be worn by the players and auctioned off during the game.
The home slate concludes with a five-game stand against Fort Myers and Palm Beach from August 28th-September 1st.
In a new scheduling twist, the Mets will be hosting more games against Florida State League North Division opponents this year. That means two visits from the Lakeland Flying Tigers (Tigers), Florida Fire Frogs (Braves), Dunedin Blue Jays (Blue Jays) and the Daytona Tortugas (Reds) as opposed to one visit.
The Mets will still host their South rivals the Bradenton Marauders (Pirates), Charlotte Stone Crabs (Rays), Fort Myers Miracle (Twins), Jupiter Hammerheads (Marlins) and Palm Beach Cardinals (Cardinals) multiple times.
