Goodbye R.C.

January 14, 2014

After 10 years with the organization, Ryan Cox, the Director of (Fun) Entertainment hung up his trademark Hawaiian shirt for the last time on a full-time basis on Friday. The Smokies would like to wish R.C. luck as he makes the transition into a different industry with a new job. As one of the most present faces of the Smokies, fans took to social media Friday to say farewell with many kind messages. "R.C. was a true asset to the organization and will be missed by many. We wish him and his family nothing but success as they embark on their new endeavors, and we look forward to seeing him and his family here at the ballpark." said Smokies Vice President of Business Operations Chris Allen. On his time spent with the Smokies R.C. commented "I truly enjoyed my tenure with the Smokies organization. I made some great relationships over the years and lasting memories that I will always cherish. I would like to wish everyone associated with the team good luck on the upcoming season." On a final positive note, R.C. did hint that he might return to do a guest stint as the M.C. at some point this season.
