SEVIERVILLE, TENNESSEE - Jason Vosler has been named the Southern League Player of the Week after an impressive string of games to finish out the first half of the season. Vosler is now the second Smokies player to earn this honor in 2017, as Ian Rice was named the Southern League Player of the week earlier in the year during the month of May.
Jason Vosler added three home runs to his season total, by knocking three out of the park during a four game span against Chattanooga. After the impressive week, Volser now has a .274 batting average with 13 home runs and 49 runs batted in. Vosler has the second highest slugging percentage in the Southern League with a .521 average.
During the Chattanooga Series Vosler went on a tear, posting 3 home runs, 4 RBI's, and a .333 batting average against the Lookouts' pitching staff. Vosler is one of eight Smokies who are on the 2017 Southern League All-Star Game roster.
