Spokane, Wash. - Victor Juarez tossed five effective innings and was backed by homers from Jordan Beck and Braxton Fulford, as the Indians topped the AquaSox, 3-1, in front of 3,755 fans at Avista Stadium for Fireworks Night presented by Valley Glass and K-102 Country.

TOP PEFORMERS

The youngest pitcher in the league at just 19 years old, Juarez (2-0, 2.87) looked like a seasoned vet against a talented Everett lineup. The right-hander went five innings for Spokane, scattering seven hits while allowing just one earned run and striking out seven.

Designated hitter Jordan Beck continues to emerge from an early season slumber, connecting on a home run for the second consecutive night. The man also known as Mike Honcho is batting .363 (8-for-22) over his last six games with two home runs and seven RBI.

Sterlin Thompson does nothing but hit. Spokane's third baseman finished 2-for-3 with a walk and is now batting an otherworldly .483 (28-for-58) through the first 16 games of the season.

Relievers Angel Chivilli, Evan Justice, and Tyler Ahearn combined for four scoreless innings with six strikeouts to thwart any chance of an Everett comeback.

AROUND THE NORTHWEST LEAGUE

Hillsboro (8-11) dispatched Tri-City (7-11) by a final of 7-1.

Vancouver (7-8) raced out to an early lead and never looked back in their 7-2 win over Eugene (12-6).
