TOP PERFOMERS

  • A night after hitting a gamewinning homer, Kellen Strahm tallied three more hits and a walk. The San Jose State product is hitting .300 at home this season.
  • Leury Tejada turned in perhaps his best start of the season. He tied a seasonhigh with four innings pitched, allowed just one hit and struck out four. He has thrown seven scoreless innings against Eugene this season.
  • Jake Hoover was on base twice and stole second both times. His 10 stolen bags are now one behind Strahm's team lead. The two have combined for 21 steals and have only been caught three times.

BY THE NUMBERS
  • David Garcia notched a double and an RBI. He has a hit in 11 of his last 13 games. His average has bumped up from .240 to .281 during that stretch.
  • Spokane's eightrun fourth is the highest single inning output since their 10-run, second inning outburst against Tri-City on July 25.
  • Threes a crowd: Spokane has given up just three runs the last three games, the third time they have accomplished that this season (June 2224, July 5-7).

KEY MOMENT
Spokane struck for four runs to begin the fourth inning. With the bases loaded and two out, Jake Reindl came in from the Emerald bullpen looking to limit the damage. He induced a routine fly ball to center field, but it was dropped by Fernando Kelli, allowing all three runners to score and sending the Avista Stadium sellout crowd into a frenzy.
AROUND THE LEAGUE
Tri-City beat Hillsboro on Saturday night, which means the standings entering the night remain the same in both divisions. The Dust Devils remain one game behind Spokane in the North while Eugene and Hillsboro are tied atop the South with 15 games to play.
