Spokane, Washington - The Indians (32-27) let a golden opportunity slip through their fingers on Thursday night at Avista Stadium. Leading 5-1 through six innings with a chance to gain ground on Vancouver in the NWL standings, Spokane pitchers coughed up six runs in the seventh inning as the Emeralds (30-30) emerged triumphant, 8-5, in front of 2,564 fans at the ballpark for Pride Night.

TOP PERFORMERS

Benny Montgomery reached base four times on three singles and a walk while also adding a highlight-reel diving catch in center field.

He's a Yanqee Doodle Dandy! Yanquiel Fernandez hit his league-leading 17th home run in the third inning and ended the night 2-for-5 to raise his average to .332 and OPS to an even 1.000.

Adael Amador had a pair of base knocks while Sterlin Thompson, Zach Kokoska, Juan Guerrero, and Ben Sems all recorded hits in the loss.

AROUND THE NORTHWEST LEAGUE

The Hops (24-36) doubled up the Canadians (33-26) by a final of 4-2 in Vancouver.

Everett (29-31) topped Tri-City (31-29) by a score of 4-3.

Avista Stadium is home to the MultiCare Kids Bench Seat. Parking at all Spokane Indians games is FREE. The Spokane Indians Office and Team Store hours are 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM on Monday through Thursday and 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Fridays. On game days, the Office and Team Store are open from 10:00 AM through the end of the game.
