Spokane, Washington - Southpaw Colten Schmidt tossed five strong innings and the Indians did just enough offensively to top the Dust Devils, 4-3, in front of 2,895 fans at Avista Stadium for OTTO the Mascot's Birthday & Kid's Day presented by Pizza Factory. Spokane improved to a spotless 3-0 (36-32 overall) in the second of the NWL season with the win and captured their first series, four games to two, in four tries against the Dust Devils this season.

TOP PEFORMERS

Colten Schmidt continues to impress in his return from injuries that kept him out of baseball for over four years. The former Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajun allowed just one earned run and zero walks over five innings with five strikeouts.

Robby Martin Jr. connected on his first home run of the season with Spokane—a solo moonshot in the fifth inning off Tri-City starter Sammy Natera Jr. that tied the score up at one.

Right-hander Angel Chivilli tossed a pair of scoreless innings to pick up his team-leading eighth save of the season.

NEXT HOMESTAND: July 4 - July 9 vs. Everett AquaSox

The Spokane Indians hit the road for six games in Vancouver before returning to Avista Stadium on Tuesday, July 4th for a series against the Everett AquaSox.
