Whatever you want to call it, the Indians looked like a totally different squad in the opening game of the Northwest League's second half. Spokane's lineup combined for seven extra-base hits and the pitching staff allowed just one earned run as the Indians (1-0, 34-32 overall) cruised to an 11-2 win over the Dust Devils (0-1, 34-33) in front of 5,473 fans at Avista Stadium for Fireworks Night & Sandy Williams Pre-Game Celebration of Life.

TOP PEFORMERS

We're cuckoo for Koko pops! Zach Kokoska reached base four times and finished a double short of the cycle to continue his season-long assault on NWL pitching. The 24-year-old continues to pace the circuit in average (.333), OBP (.436), SLG (.646), and OPS (1.082) while also ranking among the top five in home runs (14), RBI (43), doubles (15), and total bases (122).

Jordan Beck regained the NWL lead in home runs with his 18th big fly of the season—a solo shot in the third inning off Tri-City starter Michael Darrell Hicks. The former Tennessee Volunteer finished 2-for-2 with a double, home run, two walks, three runs, and two RBI.

Right-hander Jaden Hill allowed just one earned run over four innings while Evan Shawver (1-2), Juan Mejia, and Tyler Ahearn combined to hold Tri-City scoreless over the game's final five frames.

Nic Kent (2-4, 2 2B, 2 RBI) and Braiden Ward (2-for-5, 2 R) both had a pair of base hits in the win.
