SPOKANE, Wash. - Jake Latz tossed his best game of the season and guided the Indians to a 2-0 victory over Hillsboro on Sunday Funday & Pre-Game Ride the Bases presented by Lone Wolf Harley-Davidson, KHQ, 98.9 KKZX, and The Spokesman-Review.

Latz (W, 3-1) pitched a career-high six scoreless innings, striking out seven Hops along the way. The 2017 5th round pick has put together three-straight solid starts for Spokane, going 2-0 with 14 strikeouts and lowering his ERA from 6.46 to 4.97 in that stretch.
The offense got on the board early and added on late to give Latz the victory. Spokane staged a two-out rally in the bottom of the first. Curtis Terry roped a double down the left field line and came around to score on a Diosbel Arias RBI single. Arias went 2-for-4 on the day and is now hitting .373 at Avista Stadium, including multi-hit games in three of his last five.
Spokane added on with a Redband Rally in the sixth. Arias laced a lead-off double into the gap. He would score later thanks to Francisco Ventura's RBI knock. Ventura has an RBI in eight of his last ten games.
Cole Uvila pitched 2.2 scoreless innings from the bullpen. He ran into a little trouble in the ninth, but Emmanuel Clase came in with two on and two out to strike out William Gorman to give Spokane its first win over Hillsboro this season. Clase (SV, 7) now leads the NWL in saves.
