FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 20, 2018) - Sunday's game between the St. Lucie Mets and Fort Myers Miracle at Hammond Stadium was suspended again due to rain.
The game, tied 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning, was previously suspended on Saturday night. The teams will complete the game through nine innings the next time they meet, which is June 1 at First Data Field in Port St. Lucie.
Another full nine-inning game will be played on June 1 approximately 30 minutes after the completion of the first game.
The Mets entered Sunday's game trailing 2-0 but with the help of two Miracle errors in the fourth inning tied the game 2-2.
Dan Rizzie's RBI single put the Mets on the board. Jacob Zanon hit a RBI infield single to tie the game and reload the bases with one out. However, the Mets couldn't score another run to take the lead.
Harol Gonzalez threw 3.1 scoreless innings before the rain delay halted play. There was a runner on first with one out when the game was suspended.
The Mets (16-20) return home to First Data Field on Monday to start a three-game series with the Clearwater Threshers. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. All kids 12-and-under get in for free.
