PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (April 16, 2019) - The Fort Myers Miracle blanked the St. Lucie Mets 1-0 on Tuesday at First Data Field.
Mets starter Tony Dibrell took a hard-luck loss. The right hander limited the Miracle to one run and two hits over 6.2 innings. Dibrell was efficient, walking two and striking out one while throwing just 80 pitches.
The Miracle scored the game's only run in the first inning. Leadoff batter Akil Baddoo started the game with a walk. He stole second base, advanced to third base on a ground out and scored on a sac fly by Trevor Larnach.
The Mets were limited to two hits. Jeremy Vasquez went 1 for 2 with a double and a walk. Vasquez was the only Met to reach second base.
Miracle started Bryan Sammons logged six innings. He gave up two hits, walked two and struck out six. Sammons has not allowed an earned run over his three starts this season (16 innings).
Alex Phillips record a three-inning save. He has not allowed a run this season in six relief appearances.
Mets relievers Ryley Gilliam and Joe Shaw combined for 2.1 scoreless innings.
Todd Frazier (oblique) played in his 10th rehab game. He went 0 for 2 with a strikeout. He played five innings at third base.
The Mets (7-6) and Miracle (9-4) conclude their series at First Data Field on Wednesday. The game will start at 6:30 p.m.
