TACOMA, WA – The Tacoma Rainiers (7-3) shutout the Reno Aces (5-4) to win game one of the series by a score of 4-0, Tuesday at Cheney Stadium.

Tacoma got the scoring started in the second inning, as Brian Anderson used an RBI double to drive in Jason Vosler who led the inning off with a walk. The score stayed 1-0 through the top of the fifth, as Michael Mariot delivered five scoreless innings.

Mariot allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out four in his second outing of the year. The Rainiers padded their lead in the home half of the fifth on a two-run triple from Jonatan Clase, making it 3-0.

Sammy Peralta, Trevor Kelley and Kirby Snead each gave the Rainiers a scoreless inning of relief, as the three combined to allow one hit while striking out five.

Tacoma added a fourth run in the eighth inning on a wild pitch to go up 4-0 and that is where it would stay, as Joey Krehbiel delivered a scoreless ninth inning.
