Seattle made a flurry of roster moves at the end of the week, including optioning David McKay back to Tacoma. Additionally, the Mariners signed a pair of Major League veterans in infielder Kelby Tomlinson and outfielder Jaycob Brugman. Right-hander Jacob Haberer was promoted from Advanced-A Modesto, prompting infielder Connor Kopach to be reassigned to the Nuts. Eighteen-year-old Robert Perez, who hit his first Triple-A home run on Friday and hit .370 (10-for-27) in eight games with Tacoma, was reassigned to Extended Spring Training.

The Rainiers claimed victory over El Paso on Friday by the score of 8-5. Braden Bishop went 2-for-4 with a grand slam home run and four RBI to cap off a month of May where the Rainiers led all of baseball with a .311 average and 209 runs. Reggie McClain earned his first Triple-A win for three innings of one-run relief, and Robert Perez tagged his first Triple-A home run to put Tacoma in front in the early innings.
