TinCaps Postponed in South Bend

Doubleheader Scheduled in Fort Wayne on May 23
April 18, 2013

Fort Wayne, IN -- The TinCaps' game at the South Bend Silver Hawks scheduled for Thursday night at Coveleski Stadium has been postponed due to rain. The game will be made up on Thursday, May 23 at Parkview Field as part of an evening doubleheader beginning at 6:05. Fort Wayne will be the home team in both seven-inning contests.

Fans who have tickets to the game originally scheduled for May 23 at 7:05 will be admitted to both games. Parkview Field's gates that night will open at 5:05.

The make up has been rescheduled to take place in Fort Wayne instead of its original location in South Bend, because the TinCaps do not travel to play at the Silver Hawks for the remainder of the season's first-half calendar.

Fort Wayne is set to return to action at Parkview Field on Friday against the Lansing Lugnuts for the opener of a three-game series beginning at 7:05. Reigning Midwest League Pitcher of the Week Joe Ross will start for the TinCaps opposed by the Lugnuts' Roberto Osuna. The game can be heard on The Fan 1380 and TheFanFortWayne.com, and seen on XFINITY Channel 81.

The TinCaps and Fort4Fitness are encouraging fans to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday's games at Parkview Field to wear attire running attire as a sign of solidarity with the victims of Monday's bombings in Boston. The TinCaps organization will make a donation to the American Red Cross for each fan who does so. Additionally, visitors to Parkview Field will have the opportunity make individual contributions to the Red Cross and to sign a banner of support that will be sent to the victims in Boston.
