The Tri-City Dust Devils (12-23) fell 5-3 in a rain-shortened game to the Hillsboro Hops on Sunday afternoon at Ron Tonkin Field in Hillsboro. The matchup was a continuation of Saturday’s game that was suspended due to poor weather conditions.

Sunday was originally scheduled to be a doubleheader in Hillsboro, but the second game of the twin bill was ultimately canceled after the first game was called entering the bottom of the eighth inning. Details on when the game will be made up is still to be determined.

Tri-City saw their lead slip away when action resumed on Sunday. The game restarted with the Dust Devils leading 2-1 with two outs and the bases loaded in the top of the fifth inning, but Hillsboro ultimately pulled away after rallying to score four runs off Tri-City reliever Cristopher Molina.

The Dust Devils will now return home to begin a six-game home series with the Spokane Indians on Tuesday, which will start a stretch of 12 home games in 14 days for the team.
