Hornsby Ready to Party

Tulsa Mascot invited to MLB game in Tampa
July 19, 2012
Sunday, July 22 will mark a very important milestone for the Tulsa Drillers mascot Hornsby. The blue bull will make his first ever appearance at a Major League Baseball game when he travels to Tampa, Florida to participate in Raymond the Ray's birthday party at the Tampa Bay Rays game.

Hornsby will be the only minor league mascot flown in to appear at the party which will also feature mascots from the Miami Marlins, Miami Dolphins, Texas Rangers, Orlando Magic and Atlanta Hawks. Hornsby was unavailable for comment but Drillers Mascot Coordinator, Vincent Pace, expressed how excited Hornsby is to be participating in such an important event. "Hornsby cannot wait to get to Tampa and hang out with his friend Raymond and help him celebrate his birthday with their other mascot buddies," said Pace. "He is thrilled to be making his major league debut and is grateful for the opportunity given to him by his pal Raymond."

The game will start at 1:40pm EDT and will feature the Tampa Bay Rays hosting the Seattle Mariners. Besides Raymond's birthday party, the game will also feature a Matt Moore bobblehead giveaway. Fans can try to catch a glimpse of Hornsby in his debut on MLB.TV (subscription required).
