BURLINGTON, VT --- The Vermont Lake Monsters will host Game One of a 2017 New York-Penn League Semifinal series at historic Centennial Field on Saturday, September 9th starting at 6:05 pm against an opponent to still be determined, the NYPL affiliate of the Oakland Athletics announced today.
Tickets for Saturday's semifinal game are on sale now 24/7 by clicking here. They can also be purchased in person at the Centennial Field Ticket Office or by phone at (802) 655-6611 Thursday-Friday 10am-6pm or Saturday starting at 10am. Tickets are $8 for reserved seats, $7 for grandstand seats ($5 child/adult) and $15 for Diamond Deck seats. Gates will open for Saturday's 6:05 pm game starting at 5:00 pm.
The four teams for the NYPL playoffs have been finalized with Vermont winning its first Stedler Division title since 2011 (and fourth division title overall), while Mahoning Valley has also clinched the Pinckney Division. Staten Island and Hudson Valley have the other two playoff spots, but it is still to be determined which will be the McNamara Division champion and which will be the Wild Card team.
Since Vermont will finish with the third-best winning percentage among the three division winners, the Lake Monsters will play their semifinal series against the division winner with the second-best winning percentage. After game one on Saturday, Vermont will play game two and three (if necessary) at the home ballpark of its opponent. The wild card and division winner with the best win percentage will face each other in the other semifinal series.
