Wood Ducks Plan to Add Hospitality Structure in Park

October 18, 2017

[Empty Body]

Kinston, North Carolina - The 2017 Carolina League Co-Champion Down East Wood Ducks announced plans for a new two-story hospitality structure as part of the Phase 2 capital improvement plan for Grainger Stadium. The structure, which will be located down the right field line, is expected to be completed by April, 2018.
"The new area will provide a number of social and hospitality opportunities for Wood Ducks fans and the corporate community of Eastern North Carolina that haven't been available within Grainger Stadium in the past", said Wood Ducks General Manager, Wade Howell. "We also think the new space can attract other events, both sports and non-sports, to Kinston and Grainger Stadium. We are not only excited for our fan base, but also for the economic impact it will have on the local economy".
The new open-air, two story building has a footprint of approximately 10,000 square feet with 6,000 of that being covered. Each level will feature a comprehensive bar, televisions, and seating. The lower level will feature a covered area with table and chairs and new restrooms, along with a 3-tier outside area for groups or fans that want a unique view of the game. A ramp will lead from the lower level to the covered upper deck that will serve primarily as a corporate hospitality area with theatre style seating and a common area for entertainment. Plans are also underway to add a small stage outside of the lower level that can host live musical acts.
Some initial work is already underway with the construction of the building expected to begin by November 1st.
The Wood Ducks had previously announced that 2018 Season Tickets are on sale. Reserved Grandstand season tickets are available for $365 per seat and can be purchased by calling the Wood Ducks Team Offices at 252-686-5172.
