Binghamton, NY- The Hartford Yard Goats erupted for 14 hits and then reliever Shane Broyles struck out the side in the ninth inning with the tying run on deck to beat the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 6-3 Friday night.  The Goats ended a three-game losing streak with the victory, before 4,563 at NYSEG Stadium.

The Yard Goats erupted for three runs in the fifth inning to snap a scoreless tie. Omar Carrizales started the frame with a double and scored on a single by Drew Weeks. Max White singled Weeks to third then stole second base. Two outs later Josh Fuentes delivered a two-run single to center.
Hartford added two runs in the seventh inning thanks to a two-run pinch-hit single by Correlle Prime, who was batting with the bases loaded. Weeks' RBI triple in the eighth inning upped the lead to 6-0. However, Binghamton made it interesting with a three-run eighth inning, highlighted by Tomás Nido's two-run double.
Broyles nailed down his 10th save and made a winning pitcher of Parker French, who improved to 7-7. French pitched six scoreless innings, allowed two hits, struck out two, but walked a season-high six men.
Carrizales had three hits, while Fuentes each had three hits, including two doubles and two RBI. Weeks had two hits, including a triple and two RBI. Prime also had two RBI. Meanwhile, Ashley Graeter was intentionally walked four times in the game.
Game two of the three-game series is Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. Righthander Ryan Castellani will pitch for the Yard Goats against righthander Corey Oswalt for Binghamton.  The game can be heard on AM 1410 WPOP and on iHeart Radio.
