Four-Run Third Propels Sens to Series Win

New Britain, CT- The Harrisburg Senators used a four-run third inning to propel them to a 5-2 victory over the New Britain Rock Cats in the rubber game of the series on Sunday afternoon.

The first five men to bat in the third all recorded base hits for the Senators. Brian Goodwin and Justin Bloxom delivered RBI singles, while Steven Souza, Jr. and Jimmy Van Ostrand each came through with RBI doubles.

New Britain's first run came in the sixth on an RBI single by Jordan Parraz, chasing starter Blake Treinen from the game. The right-hander earned the win, battling through five-plus innings and giving up eight hits and one run. Neil Holland came on and retired three of the next four hitters to strand the bases loaded. Aaron Barrett picked up his twelfth save with one and one-third scoreless innings to close out the ballgame.

Josh Johnson went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles and a run scored. Brian Goodwin recorded three singles and scored two runs.    

The Senators have the day off tomorrow before beginning a three-game series on Tuesday in Bowie against the Baysox.
