Intimidators announce 2015 schedule

Home opener is Thursday, April 16, 2015, against Hickory

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (Aug. 15, 2014) - The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, and the South Atlantic League have announced the schedule for the 2015 regular season, which opens on Thursday, April 9, 2015. The Intimidators begin the season on a 7-game road trip to Lakewood (Phillies) and Delmarva (Orioles) before returning to Kannapolis for the team's home opener on Thursday, April 16, 2015, against Hickory (Rangers).

Fans will be able to kick off the Independence Day weekend at the ballpark as the Intimidators host West Virginia (Pirates) on Friday, July 3, 2015, to wrap up a season-long 9-game home stand to open the second half.   Kannapolis is also at home on Memorial Day Monday, May 25, 2015, against Lexington (Royals) and on Labor Day Monday, September 7, 2015, against West Virginia to wrap up the season. 

The 2015 season, the 21st year of baseball in Kannapolis and the team's 15th season as a White Sox affiliate, features 140 games with 70 at home and 70 on the road evenly split between two halves. The Intimidators will host 10 of the 13 other South Atlantic League squads, including affiliates of Major League Baseball's Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves, and more. Kannapolis will make road trips to 12 of the 13 other markets in the league, including two trips to division opponents Delmarva, Hagerstown (Nationals), Hickory, and Lakewood along with a pair of trips to Asheville (Rockies).

Game times for 2015 home games will be announced in January.

Season tickets for the 2015 season go on sale starting on Monday, at which time fans will be able to put down a $50 deposit to reserve their seats.    

The Kannapolis Intimidators are in the 20th season of professional baseball in Kannapolis and the team's 14th as the Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. Since the team moved to Kannapolis in 1995, a total of 79 players that have played in Kannapolis have gone on to the Major Leagues. This year's team is managed by Pete Rose Jr. and features some of the top prospects in the White Sox farm system. CMC-NorthEast Stadium is located off I-85 at exit 63.
