Rough Sixth Inning Hurts Senators

Ramsey notches 26th multi-hit game of 2014
August 22, 2014

A five-run sixth inning by the Trenton Thunder vaulted the visitors to a 7-0 win over the Harrisburg Senators on Friday night in front of 6,255 fans at Metro Bank Park.

Zach Kroenke worked the first five innings of Friday night's game, allowing just two runs. However, Trenton started the sixth inning with three consecutive hits to chase the Senators' lefty. James Simmons allowed a Kroenke runner to score along with two of his own as part of the five-run frame. Brian Dupra pitched two scoreless innings and Paul Demny avoided any damage despite a three-walk ninth inning.

Caleb Ramsey put together his third consecutive multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with two singles. Jason Martinson reached twice with a single, the Senators only other hit, plus a walk. Matt Skole also drew his 70th walk of the season, good for second in the Eastern League.

Game two of the series will start tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m. with the Senators' John Simms pitching against Trenton's Joel De La Rosa.
The game can be heard beginning with the pregame show at 5:45 p.m. on 1460 AM or via senatorsbaseball.com, 1460theticket.com or the iHeart Radio app.
