EASTLAKE, OH - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers concluded their three-game sweep of the Lake County Captains at Classic Park with a 5-4 victory on Saturday night. The Timber Rattlers built and early lead and held on for the win to claw their way back above .500.

Wisconsin (17-16) loaded the bases with one out in the first inning, but did not score. They would load the bases with no outs in the second inning and would not make the same mistake.

Ronnie Gideon started the inning with a walk. Then, Gilbert Lara and Jose Cuas singled to fill the bases with Rattlers. A passed ball let Gideon score the first run of the game and moved the other runners into scoring position.

Mario Feliciano stepped to the plate with one out and both runners still at second and third. He lined a single to left to score Lara. The hit extended Feliciano's hitting streak to nine games.

Tucker Neuhaus was next and he lined a single to left-center to score Cuas. An error on the play allowed Feliciano to race all the way from first to score the fourth run of the inning.

The Captains (13-22) got a run in the bottom of the second inning. Todd Isaacs tripled with one out. Conner Capel drove in Isaacs with a sacrifice fly.

Wisconsin got that run back in the top of the fourth. Demi Orimoloye doubled and stole third with one out. Then, Feliciano bounced a single up the middle through the drawn-in infield to get Orimoloye home and the Rattlers a 5-1 lead.

Lake County rallied for three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning against Wisconsin starting pitcher Cameron Roegner. Trenton Brooks drew a leadoff walk and Jorma Rodriguez singled. Li-Jen Chu doubled with one out, his third hit of the game, to knock in both Brooks and Rodriguez. Later in the inning, Jose Vicente got Chu home with a sacrifice fly and the Rattlers lead was down to a single run.

Braden Webb took over for Roegner to start the bottom of the sixth inning and he struck out five while allowing just two hits over three innings.

The Wisconsin offense could not add on to their lead against the Lake County bullpen. A trio of Captains relievers held the Timber Rattlers hitless over the final 5-1/3 innings.

Parker Berberet was called out of the bullpen to close out the game in the bottom of the ninth and the former catcher mowed down the Captains in order to convert his first professional save. Berberet also extended his current scoreless streak to fifteen innings.

Wisconsin concluded their six-game trip to Fort Wayne and Lake County with a 5-1 record. They were 7-5 in twelve games against the Eastern Division over the last two weeks.
