Wilson Homers Again But Senators Fall 6-3 to Hartford

The Hartford Yard Goats defeated the Harrisburg Senators 6-3 to take the series opener at Dunkin' Donuts Park. Jacob Wilson launched his team-leading fourth home run in the loss.

Hartford jumped to a 2-0 lead against starter Luis Reyes after one inning on an RBI single by Brendan Rodgers and sacrifice fly by Sam Hilliard. Chris Rabago's home run the next inning expanded the lead to 3-0.
Wilson put the Senators on the board in the fourth with a solo home run off starter Jesus Tinoco, his fourth on the season which is tied for second most in the Eastern League. 
In the next half inning, Mylz Jones hit a home run to left field to put the Yard Goats ahead 4-1. 
The Senators cut the deficit to a run in the sixth. Following a single and a walk, Zach Collier doubled home Taylor Gushue for the first run of the frame. The next batter, Osvaldo Abreu, reached on an infield single which allowed Gutierrez to score the second run of the inning. 
Jones added an RBI single in the sixth and Hartford plated their final run in the seventh when Garrett Hampson scored on a wild pitch by reliever Derek Self.
The Senators loaded the bases in the ninth but reliever Matt Pierpont struck out Gutierrez to seal the 6-3 victory. 
Tinoco (1-0) earned the win after allowing three runs in five and two-thirds innings. Reyes (0-1) surrendered five runs on seven hits in his six innings.
Gushue and Wilson were the only Senators with multiple hits while Yadiel Hernandez reach base three times on three walks. 
The Senators try to even the series Saturday night in game two of the series. Wirkin Estevez starts for the Senators against Hartford starter Peter Lambert. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. at Dunkin' Donuts Park. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio 95.3 FM, 96.5 FM and 1400 AM.
