Brady Dragmire Named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week

The Eastern League announced today that Harrisburg Senators pitcher Brady Dragmire has been named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 23rd to April 29th. The right-hander is the first Senators player to win pitcher or player of the week honors this season. 

The 25-year-old made one start this week and allowed one unearned run on one hit while striking out three and walking none across a career-high eight innings on Saturday night against the Altoona Curve. The Sacramento, California native had a perfect game through five innings before an infield single by Stephen Alemais to lead off the sixth. That was the only baserunner Dragmire allowed as he retired 24 of the 25 batters he faced on just 76 pitches. After Roman Mendez finished the game with a perfect ninth inning, the two Senators pitchers combined to face just one over the minimum in the 7-1 win over Altoona. Dragmire tied for the Eastern League lead in ERA (0.00) last week and also ranked among the weekly leaders in WHIP (0.13-2nd), batting average against (.040-2nd), wins (1-tied 3rd), and innings pitched (8.0-5th).
Brady, who has a record of 2-0 with a 2.67 ERA across five starts this season, his second with the Senators, was signed by the Washington Nationals as a Minor League free agent on June 20, 2017. He was originally drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 17th round of the 2011 draft from Bradshaw Christian High School in Sacramento, California.
