BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - On a Bark at The Park night at Regions Field, single runs in both the eighth and ninth innings by Mobile proved to be fatal for the Birmingham Barons. 

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - On a Bark at The Park night at Regions Field, single runs in both the eighth and ninth innings by Mobile proved to be fatal for the Birmingham Barons. 

Scott Snodgress got a spot start in the loss, recording a no decision while tossing four innings and allowing one run on two hits while walking one and striking out four BayBears.
Mobile got the scoring started in the top of the second inning, as they got started with a man on base via a one out walk from Zach Houchins who was later brought around to score on a Jared Walsh single to left field to put the road side up 1-0 in the top of the second.
Trey Michalszewski walked with two outs in the fourth inning and stole second fir his sixth stolen base of the season to give the Barons a runner in scoring position for the first time. He was promptly brought around to score on Keon Barnum's 11th home run of the year, a laser shot that measured 384 feet to right field that put Birmingham up 2-1 in the fourth.
Francisco Arcia reached on a leadoff walk to kick off the sixth inning for the BayBears and was moved to third base on an Alberto Triunfel single. Michael Hermosillo drove in Arcia on a sacrifice fly to center field, and Tim Arakawa followed suit and drove Triunfel in on another sac fly to Gelalich in center, which gave Mobile the lead at 3-2.
Trailing by a run, the home side was able to tie the game at three in the sixth when Mason Robbins led off the inning with his 11th double of the year. Jeff Gelalich produced a clutch piece of hitting when he was able to score the right fielder on a single up the middle to even up the score at three.
Back to back walks started the top of the eighth for Mobile and an intentional walk loaded the bases brought up Tim Arakawa, who grounded in to a fielder's choice that scored Arcia from third to give Mobile a 4-3 lead. The BayBears would tack on an insurance run in the top of the ninth on a Michael Hermosillo RBI single to right which brought the score to 5-3, the eventual final.
The Barons and BayBears will continue their four game set on Monday evening beginning at 7:05 p.m. CST on Monday at Regions Field. Left hander Jordan Guerrero will get the ball for the Barons and righty Osmer Morales will toe the slab for Mobile.
