Bowie, M.D. (May 20, 2024) - The Bowie Baysox, the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, have announced today that they will hold a Maritime Appreciation and FSK Responders Night on Thursday, May 23 at 6:35 pm at Prince George’s Stadium when the Baysox take on the Richmond Flying Squirrels.

Hundreds of first responders were called to action in the wake of the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge on March 26 and hundreds more have worked tirelessly since to help clean up the debris.

To recognize their heroic efforts and the reopening of the Fort McHenry Channel, the Baysox are thanking all maritime personnel and first responders by offering complimentary tickets to those who assisted in the Key Bridge tragedy.

“We are so thankful to host those that have aided in the cleanup efforts in the wake of the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse,” Baysox General Manager Brian Shallcross said. “In the midst of trying times, we hope we can provide those that have given so much to our community a great night out at the ballpark.”

The Baysox are also pleased to welcome members of the Coast Guard, the Navy, and the Army Corps of Engineers to the May 23 game at Prince George’s Stadium.

Pregame ceremonies will begin at 6:00 pm with a ceremonial first pitch to be thrown by CDR Roberto Clemente Concepcion.

CDR Concepcion currently serves as the Chief of Response at Sector Maryland National Capital Region responsible for the coordination and execution of all Search and Rescue, Marine Environmental Response, Law Enforcement, and Ports Waterways and Coastal Security missions in the State of Maryland and throughout the National Capital Region. He earned a Masters of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College in 2015 and a Masters of Arts in International Relations and International Affairs from Salve Regina University in 2016. CDR Concepcion was the recipient of the 2022 John G.
