Captains to Host 12th Annual Hot Stove Dinner on January 30

(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, the class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, will host its 12th annual Hot Stove Dinner on Thursday, January 30 from 6 pm - 8 pm at Classic Park. Current Cleveland Indians Pitching Coach Mickey Callaway will serve as the keynote speaker. The Captains new manager Mark Budzinski will also address the attendees and several top prospects from the Cleveland Indians organization will be in attendance. 

Callaway was the Captains Pitching Coach during the Championship season of 2010 and recently concluded his first season as the Pitching Coach for the Cleveland Indians, where he was part of the first playoff team for the franchise since 2007. The evening will also feature a silent auction benefitting Captains Charities and a buffet dinner.   

Fans at the Hot Stove dinner will have the opportunity to meet top Cleveland prospects who are participating in the annual Indians Player Development Department. Callaway, Budzinski and the players and will sign autographs and participate in an interactive question-and-answer session during the program. 

Players who have attended the event in previous years include current Indians pitchers Danny Salazar, Corey Kluber, Zach McCallister and current Indians players Carlos Santana, Jason Kipnis, Michael Brantley. Indians top prospect Francisco Lindor was in attendance last year.

A silent auction of Captains, Indians and baseball memorabilia will also be held during the evening, with proceeds benefiting Captains Charities, an official 501(c)3 organization. Auction items will include a signed jersey that Indians pitcher Vinnie Pestano wore during his rehabilitation stint with the Captains last season, a 2012 Major League Futures Game Baseball signed by former Captains player and Indians first-round pick Francisco Lindor, and baseballs signed by Mike Hargrove and Fausto Carmona. Other auction items will be available as well.

The buffet dinner will include Chicken Parmesan, Penne Pasta w/ Sauce, Boneless Chicken Tenders (BBQ & Buffalo sauce), Macaroni and Cheese, Cheeseburgers, Onion Rings, Tossed Salad and dessert. An assortment of non-alcoholic beverages is included as well. A selection of alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at a cash bar. 

Due to an overwhelming response last year, the Captains are once again offering a special VIP Experience that will allow a limited number of ONLY 50 attendees the opportunity to take part in an exclusive pre-event reception with Callaway, Budzinski and the players in the Captains Home Clubhouse from 6:00 - 6:45. For only $50 per person (children or adults), VIP package holders will enjoy hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages while visiting with our special guests. Each VIP guest will also have the opportunity to get autographs from all of the players during the reception and enjoy prime reserved seating during that evening's program.

Regular Hot Stove Event tickets are only $35 for adults and $25 for kids, ages 4-12. Tickets are an additional $10 more on the date of the event.  

The Hot Stove dinner traditionally sells out well in advance and is limited to the first 200 reservations.
