The Mudcats are coming off a successful seven game home stand that saw them go 5-2 after sweeping the Keys before later splitting a four game set with the Salem Red Sox. Carolina outscored Frederick 19-7 while slugging seven home runs (four from Mario Feliciano) and pitching to a 1.33 ERA versus the Keys during the first series between the two teams in Zebulon from 6/2 through 6/4.

ICYMI: Salem's Edgar Corcino and Marcus Wilson both hit solo home runs and starter Kutter Crawford struck out six while pitching into the sixth as the Red Sox defeated the Mudcats 2-1 in a rain-shortened, six inning, game at Five County Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Salem victory came in the final game of the four game set, leaving the series tied at 2-2 between the two teams. The Mudcats did get one run in the sixth and what ended up being the final inning as heavy rain stopped play.
