Harrisburg, PA (August 25, 2026) – The Chesapeake Baysox, the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, took down the Harrisburg Senators, the Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, by a 2-1 final on Tuesday night.

In a matchup between two of Minor League Baseball’s best pitching staffs in Double-A’s second half, Chesapeake (28-23, 57-61) received a late, tie-breaking home run from Anderson De Los Santos in the top of the seventh inning. De Los Santos led off the top of the seventh with a solo shot off Harrisburg right-hander Kendeglys Virguez (L, 1-1).

The De Los Santos long ball backed another stellar collective performance from the Baysox staff. Left-handed starter Caden Hunter set the tone in his fifth Double-A outing on Tuesday. Hunter navigated a pair of one-out baserunners in the first. He struck out four consecutive batters and five hitters in a six-batter span through the second and third innings. With two outs and a runner on first in the fifth, he allowed his lone damage of the night, as consecutive-two out singles from the Senators, including an RBI knock from Branden Boissiere, tied the game at one. Hunter secured his eighth and final strikeout to end his night. The southpaw walked two and yielded five hits. It was his ninth appearance across all levels this season striking out at least eight baters and his third such start at Double-A.

Chesapeake’s bullpen added four scoreless frames on Tuesday. Led by right-hander Richard Guash (W, 2-0) who recorded four outs following Hunter. The former three-year Senators arm stranded a runner at third in a scoreless sixth, before retiring the leadoff man in the seventh. Right-handers Alex Pham (0.2 IP) and Gerald Ogando (1 IP) bridged the game to the ninth inning.

The Baysox plated their only other run on Tuesday via a two-out rally in the top of the third. With the bags empty, Wehiwa Aloy doubled to left center, before being brought home one pitch later on an opposite field RBI single from Aron Estrada.

Ethan Anderson played his first game with the Baysox since July 5 on Tuesday, after being reinstated from the injured list. Anderson went 1-for-4 with a ninth-inning single. Vance Honeycutt’s fourth inning single extended his hitting streak to five games to begin his Baysox career. In addition to the homer, De Los Santos walked twice to reach base three times.

In the bottom of the ninth, right-hander Jeisson Cabrera allowed a one-out double, before a sharply hit fly ball to deep left field was caught on the leaping backhand by Fernando Peguero for the second out. Cabrera (S, 4) generated a groundout to De Los Santos at third to extinguish the late Harrisburg threat.

Chesapeake continues the series in Harrisburg on Wednesday night. Left-hander Joseph Dzierwa (3-1, 1.89 ERA) is set to go for the Baysox and will be opposed by Senators right-hander Jarlin Susana (AA Season Debut). First pitch is set for 6:30 pm from FNB Field.

The Baysox return home for one final homestand in 2026 on Tuesday, September 1, when they kick off a six-game series against the Portland Sea Dogs, the Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.
