Bowie, MD (August 5, 2026) – The Chesapeake Baysox, the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, swept Wednesday's doubleheader against the Harrisburg Senators, the Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals.

Chesapeake (20-15, 49-54) teed off on Harrisburg in game one. The Baysox exclusively used four home runs, including Wehiwa Aloy's first two Double-A homers, to blast past the Senators, 8-1. In game two, the Baysox ripped back-to-back RBI doubles to build a lead behind a stellar pitching performance in a 2-1 win.

In game one, the Senators claimed a 1-0 lead on an Ethan Petry first inning RBI single.

Aloy then hit his first Double-A home run on a loud, left field shot three batters into the game for Chesapeake. After Doug Hodo and Brandon Butterworth singled, Aloy, the Orioles' No. 5 prospect via MLB.com, plated them both on a 421-foot long big fly.

Aloy hit 15 home runs for High-A Frederick to start the season and had his second professional multi-home run game Wednesday.

The Baysox added to their lead in the third. After Aloy walked, Anderson De Los Santos launched a two-run homer to left field, his 10th of the season, for a 5-0 advantage.

Chesapeake kept swinging for the fences with back-to-back home runs an inning later. First, Brandon Butterworth smacked a two-run homer to right for his 10th of the year.

Five pitches later, Aloy (2-for-4, 4 RBI) lasered his second home run of the game off Senators lefty starter Alex Clemmey (L, 3-6), a line drive to left field at 112 miles per hour off the bat.

The run support backed up a great start by Baysox left-hander Sebastian Gongora. Across five innings, Gongora only gave up the first inning run and four hits to three strikeouts. Gongora (W, 9-6) retired the final 12 Senators he faced.

Gongora was followed by right-handers Gerald Ogando and Alex Pham, who each pitched a scoreless inning.

In game two, the Baysox belted three third-inning doubles in a four batter span to take the lead.

The sequence started with Frederick Bencosme's leadoff two-bagger, who was plated two batters later, courtesy of Tavian Josenberger . Aron Estrada then snuck a ground ball up the right field line against right-hander Josh Randall (L, 3-5) for his team-leading 19th double of the season.

Baysox right-handed starter Christian Herberholz had his best Double-A appearance of the season. Herberholz pitched five scoreless innings - his longest outing with the Baysox this year, while allowing three hits and no walks to three strikeouts.

The Senators got a run back in the sixth to make it 2-1 when Braden Boissiere hit a solo home run off Keagan Gillies (H, 2).

The score held to the top of the seventh when right-hander Brock Moore made his organizational debut in a save situation. Moore (S, 1), part of the return for former Orioles' outfielder Taylor Ward, faced one above the minimum and earned his first strikeout in the O's organization.

Overall, six Chesapeake pitchers combined to toss a 1.29 ERA (two earned runs across 14 innings) during the two-game set.

The Baysox are back in action against the Senators Thursday. Chesapeake is scheduled to start left-hander Joseph Dzierwa (2-1, 2.28 ERA) against Harrisburg lefty Josh Hartle (4-4, 3.86 ERA). First pitch Thursday is set for 6:35 pm from Prince George’s Stadium.
