Battle of the Bands Entry Begins Thursday

Your Band Could Open Ziegfest on October 25
July 31, 2013

CORPUS CHRISTI - Coastal Bend bands… get ready to compete!

Your group could open the Ziegfest 11th Annual Music Festival on Friday, October 25, at Whataburger Field.

If you and your mates play Southern Rock, Blues, Country, Americana or Funk - or something similar - enter the Ziegfest Battle of the Bands. The Top 4 vote recipients in on-line balloting between September 10 and 20 compete in the Brewster Street IceHouse Ziegfest Battle of the Bands on Wednesday, October 2.

The winner, in addition to opening Ziegfest, also plays the post-concert party at Brewster Street following the festival.

Here are the four phases to the Ziegfest Battle of the Bands competition:

  1. To enter, e-mail the name of your band along with one (1) link you want fans to view (band website, YouTube video, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) to [email protected] from Thursday, August 1, 2013 through Saturday, August 31, 2013. Only one link per band included in the poll. Links will not be changed after August 31.
  1. All entered acts are added to an on-line survey where fans vote for their favorite band at www.facebook.com/ZiegfestCC starting Tuesday, September 10, 2013 and ending Friday, September 20, 2013 at 11:59 p.m.
  1. The four bands with the highest number of on-line votes battle it out live on stage Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Brewster Street IceHouse, 1724 North Tancahua Street in Corpus Christi.
  1. Ticket-holders for the Brewster Street IceHouse Battle of the Bands are eligible to vote by placing their ticket in the jar of their favorite act. The band with the highest ticket count wins!

Presented by Ziegenbock, Ziegfest returns to Whataburger Field for the fourth straight fall. Kevin Fowler, the Casey Donahew Band and Reckless Kelly are on the bill.

Fans can purchase tickets at whataburgerfield.com, by calling 361-561-4665, or stopping by the ballpark box office during business hours.

General Admission tickets cost $15, VIP Pit accommodations $30.
