Clarissa Serna: Whataburger Field April 12

"The Voice" Contestant to Perform Postgame
April 4, 2014

CORPUS CHRISTI - Corpus Christi's own Clarissa Serna, a contestant and member of Team Shakira on NBC's "The Voice," is set to perform at Whataburger Field on Saturday, April 12.

Serna takes the stage after the Corpus Christi Hooks play host to Tulsa in Texas League baseball action at 7:10. Gates open 5:40.

The 2008 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi graduate (BA Media Communication) began her run on the hit series in late February. Serna began performing in local restaurants at 20 before joining Laredo-based cover band The Jolly Ranchers, who provided her with considerable exposure throughout South Texas. The Selena-, Christina Aguilera- and Whitney Houston-influenced 26-year-old fronts her own group, The Clarissa Serna Band. Her blend of pop, rock and soul now resonates at the national level after pleasing crowds for years in Corpus Christi, McAllen, San Antonio and Austin.

Serna, who writes her own music, is an accomplished guitarist, pianist and percussionist. She's also sold many original paintings.

The first 1,750 fans through the gates on the 12th take home a Hooks White Button-Down Jersey from CITGO.
