About the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders
The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders America has come to know and love were born in 1972, the vision of then-Cowboys general manager Tex Schramm. A glamorous, choreographed squad of accomplished dancers began performing that fall at Texas Stadium. High visibility during Super Bowl X in 1976 and growing network TV exposure away from the field - including 1979's "The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders" movie and its sequel a year later - helped raise the nation's consciousness and admiration. Since 1978, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have traveled worldwide to locations like Australia, Japan, Korea, Mexico and Peru. In fact, they've performed for more U.S. troops overseas that any other entertainer(s). The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have also lent fundraising support to countless charities and non-profit organizations.
