Perez, Rodgers to Visit Violet Whataburger
CORPUS CHRISTI - Hooks pitchers Tyson Perez and Brady Rodgers will sign autographs and visit with fans between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday at Whataburger location No. 396, 4545 Violet Road.

Perez, 24, is a 6-foot-3, 215-pound right-hander who was selected by Houston in the 17th round of the 2011 draft. The Californian has appeared in 15 Hooks contests since promotion from High-A Lancaster on May 28 and tops the team with six saves. At the Double-A level, Perez is 2-0 and sports a 0.78 ERA. His record as a pro is 17-18.
Rodgers is a Richmond native who played collegiately at Arizona State. The 6-foot-2, 187-pound right-hander is a 2012 third-round pick who's 22-20 over three seasons. He's walked just 50 and struck out 222 in 273 1/3 professional innings. The former first-team All-Pac 12 choice was a standout at Rosenberg's Lamar Consolidated High School.
