FORT MYERS, Fla. - Travis Blankenhorn drove in three runs, all in the first two innings, and Mark Contreras homered to help the Fort Myers Miracle to a 7-4 win over the St. Lucie Mets on Monday night at Hammond Stadium.
Blankenhorn gave the Miracle a 2-0 lead in the first inning with a two-run double to right.
After St. Lucie cut the deficit in half in the top of the second, the Miracle answered with a four-run bottom half. With the bases loaded and one out, Mark Contreras pushed the lead to 3-1 with an RBI single to right. Joe Cronin followed with a bases loaded walk before a wild pitch made it 5-1. Blankenhorn capped off the inning with an RBI single, his third run batted in of the night.
Trailing 6-1 in the fifth, the Mets used four hits and a wild pitch to move within 6-4. Andrés Giménez drove in a run with an RBI double, before a wild pitch allowed the Mets to score another run. Michael Paez followed with an RBI double to trim the deficit to 6-4.
Contreras extended the Miracle lead to 7-4 with a solo home run in the seventh. The Miracle right fielder finished 3-4 with two RBI's.
Clark Beeker started for the Miracle. The right-hander allowed four runs in 4.2 innings in taking a no decision. Ryan Mason (7-3) earned the win in relief. Mason pitched 3.1 shutout innings. Hector Lujan earned his second save of the year with a scoreless ninth.
Joe Cavallaro (1-1), in his second start with St. Lucie, pitched four innings. The right-hander allowed six runs on seven hits.  
The three-game series continues Tuesday night in Fort Myers. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m.
