The city of Fort Wayne has an incredibly rich baseball history. Dating back to 1871, the Summit City has hosted professional baseball, starting with the Fort Wayne Kekiongas. In the more recent decades, Parkview Field and Memorial Coliseum have been home to some of the brightest Major League stars before their first taste of the big leagues.

Since the Fort Wayne Wizards were founded in 1993, a total of 196 former Fort Wayne players have appeared in the big leagues (as of June 24, 2021). The Wizards rebranded to the TinCaps in 2009.
