Bowie, MD- Four Baysox pitchers combined on a six-hit shutout, as Bowie defeated the Yard Goats 4-0 on Thursday night at Prince George’s Stadium in Bowie, Maryland. Starter Kyle Brnovich worked the first five innings and recorded nine strikeouts, and three relievers closed out the final four innings as Bowie beat Hartford for the second straight game. Infielders Sean Bouchard and Elehuris Montero each extended their hitting streaks to six consecutive games for the Yard Goats. Hartford starter David Hill fired five scoreless innings and had five strikeouts.

The game was scoreless in the sixth inning when Bowie scored three runs against reliever and former Bowie hurler Brian Gonzalez. The Baysox loaded the bases on an error, single and walk and Zach Wilson’s grounder scored Cadyn Grenier to give Bowie a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning Chris Hudgins cracked a two-out 2 RBI double, scoring Toby Welk and Watson and giving Bowie a 3-0 lead. The Baysox added a run in the seventh inning on Patrick Dorrian’s RBI double.

Baysox starter Kyle Brnovich retired nine of the first ten batters faced before the Yard Goats got a pair of singles in the fourth inning. The right-hander then struck out the next three batters and retired the side in order three times.

The Yard Goats continue the six-game road trip on Friday night in Bowie, Maryland against the Baltimore Orioles affiliate, the Bowie Baysox.
