Bowie, MD- The Baysox cranked six home runs, including two from former number one overall pick Adley Rutschman who also had 7 RBI, as Bowie defeated Hartford 20-7 on Wednesday evening at Prince George’s Stadium in Bowie, Maryland. The Yard Goats had a 2-0 lead in the second inning before Bowie belted seven consecutive hits and scored five runs on five singles, a double and a triple. Elehuris Montero belted his 15th homer and Willie MacIver connected on his fourth homer for the Yard Goats. Bowie had a season-high 20 hits to even the series at one game each, as Hartford won the opening game on Tuesday.

Yard Goats infielder Sean Bouchard gave the Yard Goats a 1-0 lead on an RBI in the first inning off starter Gray Fenter who lasted just 1.1 innings. Hartford made it 2-0 as Matt McLaughlin scored on an error in the second inning.

However, the Baysox rallied for five runs in the second inning off Yard Goats starter Matt Dennis and never looked back. Bowie put together seven straight hits, including an RBI single by Zach Watson, two-run triple by Chris Hodgins, RBI single by Maiquin Canelo and RBI double by Adley Rutschman.

The Baysox hit their first of six homers in the third inning as Canelo went deep against reliever Nate Harris. Patrick Dorrian homered in the fourth inning, and Rutschman hit the first of his two homers in the fifth. Toby Welk also chipped in with three hits, a solo home run and 3 RBI.

The Yard Goats continue the six-game road trip on Thursday night in Bowie, Maryland against the Baltimore Orioles affiliate, the Bowie Baysox.
