Connecticut Cape Cod Classic Returns to Dunkin' Donuts Park In July

Cape Cod League Game Between the Wareham Gatemen and the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox Set for July 23rd at 12:30
(Hartford, CT) The Hartford Yard Goats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, announced that the Cape Cod Baseball League is returning to Connecticut. The Wareham Gatemen and Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox will play a league game at Dunkin' Donuts Park on Tuesday July 23rd, at 12:30pm. The "Connecticut Cape Cod Classic" will feature the defending league champion (Wareham) and the team that had the best overall record in the CCBL last season (Yarmouth-Dennis). Wareham is coached by former Yard Goats manager Jerry Weinstein. Last season's game at Dunkin' Donuts Park was the first ever Cape Cod League Game played in Connecticut. From 2009-2011, the Cape Cod League All Star Game was played at Fenway Park.
"We are excited that our fans will once again have the opportunity to watch some of the greatest amateur players in the country, right here in Hartford," Yard Goats President Tim Restall said. "The Connecticut Cape Cod Classic will feature two outstanding teams from last season and we are happy to host them at Dunkin' Donuts Park."

"Playing at any minor league stadium is always exciting but going back and playing at Dunkin' Donuts Park for a second year is a thrill," Wareham Gatemen General Manager Andrew Lang said. "It is an experience that the players as well as our coaches enjoy and with Jerry as the Yard Goats former manager makes it even more special. We are extremely thankful that the Yard Goats were willing to have us return and that the Y-D Red Sox were willing to participate in the game again this summer. Our hope is that this game will become a Cape League tradition as it's already a Gatemen tradition."
Tickets for the Connecticut Cape Cod Classic start at $10 and may be purchased by calling the Yard Goats at 860-246-GOAT (4628), online at www.yardgoatsbaseball.com, or in person by visiting the Click It or Ticket Box Office at Dunkin' Donuts Park. In addition to regular seating options, hospitality suites, picnics, party decks and dugout suites are also available for the game.
