Somerset, NJ- The Somerset Patriots hit two homers in the seventh inning to break a 1-1 tie, and defeated the Hartford Yard Goats 3-1 on Tuesday night at TD Bank Ballpark in Somerset, New Jersey. Jeisson Rosario and Eric Wagaman each hit solo homer runs, sending Hartford to its fourth straight loss. Yard Goats starter Will Ethridge did not allow a hit or run in four innings (3BB 1K) in his Double-A debut.

The Yard Goats scored the first run of the game in the fourth inning off Patriots starter Randy Vasquez. Hunter Stovall led off the inning with a single and advanced to third base on a hit by Zac Veen in his Double-A debut. Veen then got in a rundown between first and second base, and allowed Stovall to score, giving Hartford a 1-0 lead.

Yard Goats starter Will Ethridge was sharp in his Double-A debut and fired four hitless and scoreless innings. The righty walked three and struck out one and left with a 1-0 lead after four innings.

The Patriots tied the game with a run in the fifth inning off reliever Tony Locey. Jesus Bastidas and Mickey Gasper each had a hit, and Yankees prospect Anthony Volpe cracked a two-out RBI single, scoring Bastidas and tying the game at 1-1.

Somerset took a 2-1 lead on Jeisson Rosario's leadoff homer in the seventh off Locey. Later in the inning, Eric Wagaman contributed with a solo homer to make it 3-1.

The Yard Goats and Patriots continue the six-game series on Wednesday night at 6:05 in Somerset, NJ. The broadcast can be heard on AM 1410, FM 100.9 and the iheart radio app. The Yard Goats return home next Tuesday, August 16th to Dunkin' Donuts Park to host the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
