'Dads Fall to West Virginia In Second Half Opener

Dorow Continues First Half Success, is Hitting .417 in Last 10

Hickory, NC- The Crawdads fell to the West Virginia Power 8-1 in the second half opener on Thursday night.

The Power jumped on 'Dads starter Noah Bremer with a leadoff homerun in the first inning. They tacked on five more off Bremer before he departed following a rain delay after the last out of the fourth inning.
After an hour delay, Derek Heffel came in and allowed a pair of Power runs to make the score 8-0 after seven innings. Joe Kuzia took the 'Dads the rest of the way, tossing two scoreless innings.
Yonny Hernandez singled in the 'Dads lone run of the game in the bottom of the seventh inning for his 17th RBI of the season.
Hernandez and Tyreque Reed both finished the night with two singles each. Austin O'Banion and Ryan Dorow, also collected singles while Pedro Gonzalez got his tenth double of the season.
The homestand will continue tomorrow night with Outdoors Night. Blossman Gas and Appliance will be raffling off two grills so be sure to sign up to win. It is also Catawba Science Center Night which means members can get up to four free tickets to the game if they show their ID at the box office. The night will conclude with a post-game fireworks show thanks to Pepsi and WNNC.
