'Dads Flirt With No-No, Win On Walkoff

Crawdads Beat Intimidators 2-1 with Sixth Walkoff of Season

Hickory, NC- The 'Dads pitching staff flirted with a no hitter on Thursday night in a 2-1 walkoff win over Kannapolis. The Crawdads were seven outs away from completing a no-hitter before the Intimidators singled to right.

Hickory, NC- The 'Dads pitching staff flirted with a no hitter on Thursday night in a 2-1 walkoff win over Kannapolis. The Crawdads were seven outs away from completing a no-hitter before the Intimidators singled to right.

The victory gave the Crawdads a series victory over the first-place Intimidators. The 'Dads took the first game of the series 11-10 on a walkoff double by Sam Huff but lost yesterday afternoon.
Center fielder Pedro Gonzalez got the 'Dads off to an early led with a homerun to left to lead off the bottom of the first.
Crawdads starting pitcher AJ Alexy, completed six innings without yielding a hit and struck out seven.
The Intimidators tied the game up in the eighth with a run off righty Jean Casanova. Casanova went three innings, only giving up the one run.
The game stayed tied into the tenth inning. Kole Enright bunted Huff to third. Huff started the inning on second, a new rule this season across minor league baseball. Tyler Ratliff singled down the left field line and brought Huff in to score the winning run. The walkoff hit is Ratliff's second of the season and the 'Dads sixth.
The homestand will continue tomorrow night with Disney Night and a doubleheader against the West Virginia Power. The first game will begin at 5pm and the second will start 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. Both games will be 7 innings. The Enchanted Elegance Princesses will be at the Frans for a Meet and Greet starting at 5:30.
