Barons, Generals alter series to accommodate Tropical Storm Barry

Jackson, Tenn. - The Jackson Generals, the Double-A affiliate of Major League Baseball's Arizona Diamondbacks, have agreed to alter their originally-scheduled six-game series with the Birmingham Barons because of the expected impact of Tropical Storm Barry and related weather.

Instead of playing at 6:05pm CT on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, the two sides have agreed to cancel Tuesday's game and play a double-header on Sunday beginning at 2:05pm CT in order to make the best effort to complete five games in the series.
 
After the conclusion of Sunday's second contest, the Barons will depart for Birmingham to avoid consequences due to the incoming weather. After this series concludes, the Generals will have three days off before playing at Montgomery on Thursday, while Birmingham will have three days to recharge before hosting Tennessee. Entering play Saturday, Jackson has won 12 of their 17 meetings with Birmingham this season. The cancelled game will make the season series 20 games in length, rather than 21.
