Contest to be finished at Jackson later in First Half

By Tyler Springs / Jackson Generals | April 15, 2018 6:37 PM

Sevierville, Tenn. - After the conclusion of the third inning, Sunday's game between the Jackson Generals and Tennessee Smokies was suspended and postponed due to weather at Smokies Stadium.

The contest, which the Generals led 4-3 at the time, will be played to nine-inning completion as part of a double-header that will be scheduled during Tennessee's visit to The Ballpark at Jackson in early June (June 3-June 7). Game times for that double-header will be announced in a later release.

By rule, the second game of that Smokies-Generals double-header will be a seven-innng contest, based on the Southern League's application of the Optional Suspended Game Rule and its consequences [OBR 7.02(a)(7) and 7.02(a)(8)]. Statistics from today's contest will remain valid and are counted as having happened on this date.
