VISALIA, Calif. - The Lancaster JetHawks dropped the series opener to the Visalia Rawhide, 6-2, on Sunday evening at Recreation Park.
Visalia (47-47, 11-13) scored an unearned run in the opening frame and broke the game open with four runs in the fifth to jump out to a big lead against starter Ty Culbreth (2-0).
Culbreth, who had won his first two starts as a JetHawk, allowed six runs (five earned) on 10 hits over five innings. 
The JetHawks (50-44, 12-12) struggled to hit with men on base and left seven runners over the first five innings. 
Wilson Soriano extended his season-long hitting streak to seven games with a 1-for-4 night and scored Lancaster's first run on a Yonathan Daza ground ball.
Mylz Jones singled doubled in the ninth inning, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on a Soriano ground out. 
Jones and Garrett Hampson each recored mult-hit games for the JetHawks. 
The series continues on Monday morning at Recreation Park. Peter Lambert (8-7) starts for the JetHawks against Bo Takahashi (5-4). First pitch is 11 a.m.
